The state further provides tax relief for residents 65 and older for medical expenses over $28,000 with an income tax exemption of up to $3,000. Further tax relief programs include the property tax rebates for homeowners over the age of 65. Los Alamos and Santa Fe residents can also qualify for the low income property tax rebate program.
